Although I appreciate and do various types of photography; I am mostly attracted to taking images of people. This is because I like people and find them interesting. I am often complimented by clients for my enthusiastic and humorous approach during shoots. I strive to create images that's moody and filled with atmosphere. I love instinctive and natural shots, but at the same time endeavour to keep it aesthetically pleasing with appropriate and often contrasty backgrounds.
I am an experienced portrait photographer, but also quite familiar with other genres such as landscape and travel photography. I conduct various photography courses and workshops throughout our province. I am currently working on a book about the basic aspects of digital photography as well as video courses. I am also busy with a few creative projects of my own, such as photo essays on "squatter camps", and "in the forrest".
Daniel Bester Photographic is a family business and our core business is portrait photography and photography instruction. As leader of the pack, I am responsible for planning, marketing and photography assignments. My wife, Jenna does make-up and beauty treatments on an ad-hoc basis. Our son, Mia-Daniel works full time as photo retoucher and responsible to upload and maintain client websites. Minnette, our daughter, is still at school, but already shows great promise of creative and artistic ability.
